Families are those that you choose
David’s beliefs about families being those that you choose began when he was adopted at birth by his loving parents. He and his wife Nikki shared this belief and continued this family tradition when they chose to adopt two wonderful girls themselves.
Families that work together
Growing up in an entrepreneurial family that owned different businesses over the years had a very strong impact on David. In addition to many diverse work experiences, David learned that families work together towards shared goals through thick and thin and that all those who work alongside you should be welcomed as family as well. These strong family values have driven David to create and grow multiple vibrant companies where the entire multi-generational family can continue to work side by side every day.
An unorthodox education
Always on the outlook for outlets for David’s “precocious trailblazing nature”, His parents eagerly accepted an Invitation by Johns Hopkins University for David to attend their Center for Talented Youth programs. These programs were instrumental in channeling David’s focus and drive which resulted in an invitation for David to begin taking college classes in Washington State at the age of 13.
Finding a passion and purpose
Entrepreneurial and consulting opportunities brought the entire Reed family to SW Florida a few years later leading David to finish his college education at the University of Florida. David’s unorthodox educational path and entrepreneurial experience led to multiple consulting and employment opportunities throughout the state of Florida in a multitude of industries. Through these experiences David discovered a critically unmet need and developed a passion for developing systems that help people work more efficiently with the ultimate goal being improving our work lives.
Building a foundation
During this time David observed many companies and software products struggle as they tried to make the transition from on-site client server based programs to cloud-based solutions. David’s insight into the cause of many of these failures led him to develop a proprietary cloud-based application platform that would serve as the rock solid and secure foundation for the two successful software companies known today as E-Tempest.com and appFiles.
Making a difference
Over the past almost 20 years David and his team of consultants have enjoyed helping hundreds of companies become more effective and efficient in many industries both in and out of the office. Fueled by their over 99% success rate, the appFiles team is passionately supported in the Real Estate industry by their exclusive client list consisting of more than 1200 Brokerages centered in Florida. By employing their unique brand of customization, coaching, on-site training and live customer support they have been instrumental in the success of their customers’ lives.
